Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA3712: McDonnell F-101B Voodoo serial 57-0364, of the 60th FIS, Otis AFB, Massachusetts 1970. Production of only 500 pieces.

The 60th FIS was activated in 1940 as the 60th Pursuit Squadron but re-designated the 60th FS “Fighting Crows” on May 15, 1942. On January 5, 1959 the 60th FS located at Otis AFB, MA was the first Air Defense Squadron to receive the new McDonnell F-101 Voodoo. On April 30, 1971 the 60th FS was deactivated and with that F-101B 57-0364 was sold to Canada and became CF-101B 101036. In 1987 it became an instructional airframe and struck off charge in 1993.

The McDonnell F-101 Voodoo (nicknamed One-Oh-Wonder) first flew in September 1954 with the first production F-101A making its first operational flight in May 1957. In September 1957 the F-101C became operational followed by the F-101B in January 1959. When production ended 807 Voodoos had been created, 480 of them were the two-seat all-weather interceptor F-101Bs. The RF-101 reconnaissance version was the world’s first supersonic photo-recon aircraft. The only major foreign operator of the Voodoo was the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) that acquired 56 CF-101B and 10 CF-101F.
